Dorothy Ruby Greeley

Dorothy Ruby (Erickson) Greeley, age 82, of Wahkon, Minn., died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007 at the Onamia Nursing Home.

She was born July 20, 1924 to Otto and Ruby Erickson in Minneapolis. Dorothy was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City, Minn., and graduated from Litchfield High School in 1942.

Dorothy married Robert Greeley in 1942. They farmed near Paynesville, and later had a restaurant in Cokato.

After they moved to Wahkon, Dorothy worked in restaurants and cooked at the Isle High School.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Isle. She was also a member of the Isle Lions Club, Isle CCR, and Trinity Lutheran Ladies Society.

For many years, Dorothy volunteered for the blood drive and cooked hamburgers at Isle Days.

She enjoyed baking and giving to others; and she loved children, cats, and going for a drive. She will be greatly missed by all.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Roger Erickson; and her godson and nephew, Steven Erickson.

She is survived by her sister, Florence Anderson of Cokato; two brothers, John (Barbara) Erickson of Minneapolis, and Charles (Sally) Erickson of Cokato; brother and sisters-in-law Jeanette Greeley of Cokato, Mae Evenski of Dassel, Alice Greeley of Litchfield, and Roy and Dorothy Brown of Willmar; special friends Travis and Kathy Young and family, and Don and Maureen Drabant; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Isle with Pastor Mark Maunula officiating. Interment was at Burr Oak Cemetery, Grove City.

Pallbearers were Willis and Willard Greeley, Alvin Bedner, Gordon Anderson, Don Drabant, and Travis Young. Honorary pallbearers were Terry, Tom, Tim, and Ronald Erickson.

Arrangements were by the Mille Lacs Lake Funeral Home in Isle.
