Evert J. Hasse, age 93, of Hopkins, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2007, at Hopkins Care Center in Hopkins.
He was born May 26, 1914, in Waconia Twp,. the son of Albert W. and Louise A. (Sell) Hasse. Evert was baptized June 28, 1914, at Zion Lutheran Church in Mayer by the Rev. F. W. Erthal, and confirmed April 28, 1929, at the same church by the Rev. Erthal.
Evert married Rosella P. Pawelk Oct. 12, 1939, at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany with the Rev. Theodore Rolf officiating.
Evert took great pleasure in camping, fishing, and playing cards. He had a tremendous love for his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosella; parents Albert and Louise Hasse; brother Gilbert Hasse; and sister Mildred Hasse.
Evert is survived by his loving children: son and daughter-in-law Sheldon and Cathy Hasse of Hopkins; daughter and son-in-law Sharen and Byron Kranz of Gaylord; grandchildren Pauline and Keith Schmidt, David and Holly Kranz, Miriam and Rick Schwenn, and Chelsea and Bryan Parrott; great-grandchildren Derrek, Amber, Elisabeth, Benton, Audrey, Mariah, Bennett, Wyatt, and Trevor; brother and sister-in-law Wilford and Sophie Hasse of Mayer; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service took place Friday Dec. 14 at 11 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia with the Rev. Jeremiah Olson officiating. Interment was at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Mayer.
Casket bearers were David Kranz, Rick Schwenn, Keith Schmidt, Bryan Parrott, Brian Gongoll, and Gilbert Hasse Jr.
Arrangements were with the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia.
