Alan David Horsch
Alan David Horsch, age 41, of Howard Lake, died Sunday, March 4, 2007 at his home.
He was born Jan. 13, 1966 in Cokato, the son of Jerome and LaVerna (Knaak) Horsch. He was baptized Feb. 6, 1966, and confirmed May 4, 1980 at St. James Lutheran Church, Howard Lake, by the Rev. Gerhard C. Michael.
Alan was united in marriage to Karen (Pikal) Deckert July 7, 1990 at St. James Lutheran Church with the Rev. W. A. Schultz officiating. The made their home in Howard Lake.
Alan was presently employed at Harbor Plastics of Maple Plain.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, and watching movies.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerome Horsch; brother-in-law James D. Salden; and uncle Virgil Horsch.
Alan is survived by his wife, Karen, of Howard Lake; two step-daughters, Sara Deckert of St. Cloud and her special friend, Jeremy Dell of Howard Lake, and Leah Decker of St. Cloud and her special friend Eddy Hultgren of St. Cloud; mother, LaVerna Horsch of Howard Lake; three sisters, Kathy (Roger) Schiroo of Buffalo Lake, Roxanne Salden and special friend Wayne Schmitz of St. Bonifacius, and Cindy (Rick) Olson of Sandstone; and two brothers, Randy Horsch of Shakopee, and Christopher (Stacy) of Howard Lake.
He is further survived by nieces and nephews, Jennifer Schiroo, Jason Schiroo, Joshua Salden, Dustin Salden, Nicholas Olson, Ryan Olson, Matthew Horsch, and Gabryella Horsch; father-in-law and mother-in-law Edwin and Stella Pikal; and a host of relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
Funeral service was Friday, March 9 at 2 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake with the Revs. Michael Nirva and Martin Schoenfeld officiating. Nancy Butterfass was the organist. Interment will be at Howard Lake Cemetery at a later date.
Honorary pallbearers were Dustin Salden, Jennifer Schiroo, and Jason Schiroo.
Pallbearers were Joshua Salden, Nicholas Olson, Ryan Olson, Paul Horsch, Jeremy Dell, Daniel Buesgens, Randy Horsch, and Christopher Horsch.
Arrangements were by the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Howard Lake.
