Darlene Faye (Benson) Huro
Darlene Faye (Benson) Huro, age 70, of Annandale, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
She was born July 1, 1936 in Litchfield, the daughter of Vernon and Betty (Peterson) Benson. Darlene grew up in the Annandale area, where she graduated from the Annandale High School in 1954.
She was baptized and confirmed at the Lake Union Covenant Church in rural South Haven.
Darlene was united in marriage to Gerald Huro May 10, 1958, at her aunt’s home in Kingston. Together, they made their home in the South Haven area.
Darlene loved her parrots and the many dachshunds that she had over the years. She also enjoyed playing music, and singing.
She was a voracious reader, who could read a book quickly. The family also fondly recalls the many cars that she enjoyed over the years.
Darlene is survived by her children, Debbie (Mark) Peterson of Cokato, Mike (Carla) Huro of Annandale, and Mark (Sue) Huro of South Haven; eight grandchildren, Benjamin Huro, Meagan Huro, Taylor Limbeck, Garrett Stumpf, Michelle Huro, Melissa Huro, Kelly Peterson, and Casey Huro; a very special friend, Dr. Mary Stiles of Annandale; and other relatives and good friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald March 28, 1994; her parents; and an infant sister, Mary.
A memorial service took place Saturday, Feb. 3 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in South Haven with the Rev. Heather Klason officiating. The organist was Jamie Miller, and the vocalists were Denise Bollman and Debbie Lammersen.
There was a time to gather at the church one hour prior to the service.
The Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel handled the arrangements.
