Frances J. Kiphuth
Frances J. Kiphuth, age 79, of rural Buffalo, died Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at the Delano Health Care Center.
She was born Nov. 13, 1927 in New Effington, S.D., the daughter of Gilman and Lila Westover Read.
Frances and Lewis F. Kiphuth were joined in holy marriage Sept. 8, 1956, in Monticello.
Frances enjoyed horses and art work, especially drawing. She would often read the Bible, enjoyed the out of doors, and was fond of working outside with her family and animals. Frances also loved to sing.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Lewis Kiphuth; children: Leora (Lonny) Martin, Leila (Rick) Larson, Debra Kiphuth, Linda (Bruce) Lomker, Gordon Kiphuth, Gerald (Melissa) Kiphuth, Sandra (Larry) Kiphuth, LeRoy (Chantelle) Kiphuth and William (Elaine) Kiphuth; 22 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters Ruth Johnson, and Fern (Neal) Klemz; brother Melvin (Janet) Read; and many other relatives and friends.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Gilman and Lila Read; a grandson, Keith D. Martin; and sisters and brothers, Margaret Borchert, Marie Germandson, William“Billy” Read, and Edwin Read.
Funeral services were Saturday, March 31 at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo with the Rev. Rebecca Sogge officiating. Interment was at the Riverside Cemetery in Monticello.
Visitation took place Friday, March 30 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, and continued Saturday for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
Casket bearers were Larry Martin, Lonnie Martin, Gene Kiphuth, Kirk Lomker, Erik Lomker, and Mike Kuchinski.
The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo served the family.
