Margaret Louise Kletscher
Margaret Louise Kletscher, age 66, of Winsted, died Tuesday evening, Feb. 13, 2007 at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.
She was born March 1, 1940 in Dawson, Minn., the daughter of Theodore and Julia Gravem Anderson. Margaret was baptized April 14, 1940 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dawson, instructed in the Lutheran Catechism, and confirmed in the Christian faith Sept. 12, 1954 at the same church.
She graduated from Dawson High School in 1959.
Margaret and Clarence Loren Kletscher were joined in holy marriage July 12, 1959 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dawson. God blessed their marriage with two children.
Clarence and Margaret engaged in dairy and crop farming near Vesta, Minn. for many years. Margaret later was a longtime bookkeeper for Sunwood Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Redwood Falls.
In 2001, Margaret and Clarence moved from their farm to Winsted, and resided at Linden Wood Apartments, where Margaret served on the board of directors until her passing.
Margaret enjoyed sewing, embroidering, gardening, canning, camping and fishing.
She was a former faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Vesta, and taught Sunday school there for many years. Margaret also served on the board of directors of Western Community Action for five years, and was a county home extension member for many years.
She currently belonged to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winsted.
Margaret is survived by a son, Kent Kletscher of River Falls, Wis.; a daughter, Susie (James) Pierson of Mayer; four grandchildren, Alex, Brooke, and Wyatt; and Christian; a sister and brothers, Frances (Cecil) Anderson of Hugo, Stan (Mary) Anderson of Minnetonka, John (Arlene) Anderson and Winston (Betty) Anderson, all of Dawson, Loren (Marilyn) Anderson of Rosemount, and Gordon (Delores) Anderson of Hastings; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
She as preceded in death by her husband, Clarence L. Kletscher Feb. 3, 2002; and by her parents, Theodore and Julia Anderson.
Funeral services were Friday, Feb. 16 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winsted, with the Rev. Gerald L. Boldt officiating. Interment followed at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Friends called Thursday, Feb. 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted.
Casket bearers were Tim Anderson, Loren Borning, Randy Kletscher, Tom Anderson, Todd Anderson, and Terry Anderson.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
