Vivian May Kling
Vivian May Kling, age 74, of Litchfield, died Monday, April 16, 2007 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
She was born May 25, 1932 in Kingston Township, Meeker County, the daughter of John and Evelyn (Johnson) Weller. Vivian grew up in Kingston Twp. and attended country school before attending and graduating from Litchfield High School.
Vivian married Winston Kling in 1951, and together, they farmed near Forest City, where she lived the rest of her life.
Vivian worked as a cook for Augustana Home in Litchfield from the late 1970s until 1988.
She was an active member of the Ostmark Lutheran Church, and served on the ladies aid.
Vivian enjoyed cooking, knitting, puzzles, and was an avid Twins fan.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen (and Jim) McCarthy of Litchfield; granddaughters Vanessa and Emily McCarthy; a sister, Eunice Ranta of Plymouth; nieces, Susan (and Scott) Hanson of Corcoran, Linda(and John) Paulson of Minnetonka, and Kaye (and John) Gilbertson of Plymouth; a nephew, Steve (and Cheryl) Ranta of New Hope; and other relatives and friends.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two sons, Keith and John.
Funeral services were Thursday, April 19 at 11 a.m. at the Ostmark Lutheran Church with the Rev. Melinda Melhus officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Visitation took place from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 18 at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield, and continued Thursday for one hour prior to the services at the church.
Arrangements were by the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield.
