Rollin Arthur Koosman
Rollin Arthur Koosman, age 72, of Middleville Township, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007 at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.
He was born March 28, 1934 in Holloway, Minn., the son of Herbert W. and Ella A. Beier Koosman. Rollin was baptized April 1, 1934 in Holloway. He was also instructed in the Lutheran catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith May 18, 1947 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Middleville Township by the Rev. Herman Bentrup.
Rollin was joined in holy marriage to Norma A. Miller Aug. 4, 1956, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Middleville Township. God blessed their marriage with seven children.
Rollin was a longtime superintendent for sewer and water construction.
He was a faithful member of St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake.
Rollin enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a former softball pitcher.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Norma A. Koosman; seven children: David (Janel) Koosman of Rockford, Julianne (Robert) Peterson of Welch, Daniel Koosman of Howard Lake, Kristen (Michael) Radke of Manitowoc, Wis., Dean (Christine) Koosman of Howard Lake, Lynn (Patrick) Lease of Mankato, and Michelle Koosman and friend James Groth of Mound; and 15 grandchildren: Sara, Jolene, Katie, Paul, Ryan, Matthew, Kayla, Kaitlyn, April, Brittany, Ben, Jenna, Zach, Chad and Allison.
Rollin is further survived by a brother, Howard (Anne) Koosman of Tea, S.D.; sisters-in-law Lou Koosman of St. Croix Falls, Wis., Margery Koosman of Litchfield, and Marian (Maurice) Halverson of Edina; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert W. and Ella A. Koosman; an infant brother; brothers Ivan, Waldon, Aaron, and Clarence; and by a sister, Lorna.
The funeral service took place Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 2 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake with the Revs. Michael Nirva and Martin Schoenfeld officiating. Interment followed at St. James Cemetery on Dutch Lake.
Friends called Monday, Feb. 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.
Casket bearers were nephews Jim, Greg, Kevin, Tim, Wayne, and Steve Koosman.
The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo served the family.
