Darlene “Dolly” Jo Ann Kotila

Darlene “Dolly” Jo Ann Kotila, age 70, of Cokato, died Friday, March 30, 2007 at the Cokato Manor.

She was born May 19, 1936 in Brookfield Township, Minn. to Joseph and Rose (Buehler) Peterson. Darlene was baptized at the Brookfield Township Church. When she was a young girl, she helped care for her grandparents.

Darlene lived in Corvuso, and moved to Hutchinson in 1949.

She was married to Jarvis Peipas in 1956, and they lived in Litchfield. She had three children, David, Danny, and Katheryn.

Darlene was then married to Roy Kotila in 1975. Later, she was married to Roger Putney.

Dolly enjoyed animals, especially dogs and birds, going to auctions, and visiting with people.

She lived in a St. Cloud nursing home before moving to the Cokato Manor.

Darlene is survived by her children, David of Aurora, Minn., and Katheryn of Willmar; sisters Shirley Hahn, Joyce Hanke, both of Hutchinson, and Julie Mielke of Glencoe; and sister-in-law Bel Peterson of Winthrop.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy Kotila; son Danny; and brothers, Donald and Dwaine.

Funeral service was Tuesday, April 3 at Swanson Peterson Funeral Home in Cokato with the Rev. Wally Glucklich officiating. Music was provided by Janet Moberg and Larry and Nancy Wasmund, and interment was at the Cokato Finnish Cemetery.

Arrangements were by the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Cokato.
