Phyllis Jane Kuehn
Phyllis Jane (Straub) Kuehn of Dassel, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2006, at the Dassel Lakeside Community Home.
She was born Sept. 29, 1946 in Grand Forks, N.D., the daughter of Eusebe and Irene (Mattson) Mondor. She grew up in East Grand Forks, and was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith.
Phyllis attended a Catholic parochial school, where she received her education. She later received a degree as a chemical dependancy counselor, and graduated from the Willmar Technical College in 1989.
In June of 1963, Phyllis was united in marriage to Willard Straub. Together, they made their home in the Dassel area.
Phyllis worked at the Litchfield Garment Company for many years as a sewing machine operator, and most recently, had been employed in the bakery department at the Wal-Mart in Hutchinson.
She enjoyed stamping, and going camping with family and friends. Most of all, she enjoyed the times that she could spend with her children, grandchildren, and her many friends.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Scotty Straub of Dassel, Dean Straub of Litchfield, Kelly Monson (and special friend, Jeff Duenow) of Hutchinson, and Corey Straub (and special friend, Sheri Stubeda) of Litchfield; five grandchildren, Scotti Phyllis Straub, Caroline Jane Monson, Shawn Phillip Monson, Samantha Emma Straub, and Austin Allen Straub; and three sisters, Bernice Meyer of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Alice Bartlette of Sauk Centre, and Marline Straub of Dassel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Phillip Gene Mondor; and seven sisters, Ida Rousseau, Mary Hauntz, Joyce Meyer, Inez Bell, Ann Adams, Josofiein Hagenkamp, and Judy Gust.
A memorial service took place Saturday, Dec. 30 at 11 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Litchfield with the Rev. David Sorensen officiating. There was a time to gather with the family one hour prior to the service.
Memorial arrangements were handled by the Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel.
