Jennie Victoria Lampi
Jennie Victoria Lampi, age 97, of Annandale, formerly of Minneapolis, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007 at the Annandale Care Center.
She was born May 13, 1909 to Stephen and Mary (Rissell) Lampi in French Lake Township, Wright County, where she grew up.
Jennie was employed as a waitress in Los Angeles, Calif., and then for many years, in Minneapolis at the Normandy Restaurant.
She was a member of Morgan Avenue Lutheran Church, Minneapolis, and United Food & Commercial Workers Local 653.
Jennie enjoyed traveling, especially to her roots in Finland, entertaining, politics, and her family and friends.
She is survived by a sister, Betty Mattson of Annandale; sister-in-law Dorothy Lampi of Annandale; niece Deanna (Brian) Hedman of Annandale; nephews Tom (Dayle) Lampi of Annandale, Wesley (Barb) Mattson of Minneapolis, David (Mary Kay) Mattson of Princeton, Steve (Shirley) Hill of Annandale, and Warren (Mary) Hill of Carrollton, Texas; and niece-in law, Mary (Bob) Saurault of Mora.
Jennie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Helmer, Wayne, Richard, Martin, Rudolph, and Enoch Lampi; sister Sylvia Brooks; and nephew Ronald Hill.
Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 3 at 2 p.m. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, French Lake with the Rev. Edward Groop officiating. The organist was Margaret Groop. Interment followed in Riverside Cemetery, French Lake Township.
Friends called Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale. Visitation continued for one hour prior to the services at the church.
The pallbearers were Brian and Mitch Hedman, Tom and Mark Lampi, Steve Hill, and Wesley Mattson.
Arrangements were by the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale.
