Emilie R. Landkammer
Emilie R. Landkammer, age 83, of Winthrop, died Sunday, July 8, 2007 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Minnetonka.
She was born Aug. 7, 1923 in New Ulm, the daughter of Duncan and Elizabeth (Smith) Galloway.
Emilie was united in marriage to Wilfred Landkammer Aug. 18, 1941 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye.
Always the life of the party, Emilie had a fun-loving, charismatic personality, and could make anyone smile. She took great pleasure in flowers, gardening, church activities, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children and spouses, Roberta and Tom Brunberg of Chanhassen, Jerry and Kris Landkammer of Tampa, Fla., Judy and Jerome Kadlec of Silver Lake, Jim and Judy Landkammer of Chanhassen, Pat and Dennis Bigaouette of Mound, Joe Landkammer of St. Bonifacius, Mary and Denny Oscarson of Waconia, Jane and Dennis Guertin of Eden Prairie, Debra Johnson of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Lori Schmidt and friend Rick of Eden Prairie; 29 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Emilie is further survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Charlie Doering of Bloomington; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Lucy Galloway of Bloomington, Bob and Helen Landkammer of Springfield, Ill., and Sister Larraine Landkammer O.S.F. of Rochester.; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred; sons Robert and Jon Landkammer; parents Duncan and Elizabeth Galloway; and seven brothers and sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Friday July 13 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Winthrop with Father Ronald Huberty as celebrant. Interment was at Winthrop Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Emilie’s granddaughters, Michele Zavoral, Melissa Kadlec, Lisa Bigaouette, Melanie Bressan, Nichole Dorn, Jennifer Arredondo, Sarah Yantifovich, Sara Landkammer, and Heather Schmidt.
Arrangements were with the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia.
