Edith Irene Parsons Pariseau Laxen, age 80, of Cokato, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, at Cokato Manor in Cokato.
She was born Nov. 14, 1926, in St. Paul, the daughter of Otto and Ella Pollreis Parsons. Edith was baptized at Sacred Heart Church in St. Paul.
She graduated from Forest Lake High School in 1944; and moved to Winsted in 1951.
Edith formerly worked at Seeger Refrigerator for three years.
She enjoyed gardening, bowling, and going up north fishing.
Edith was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted and belonged to Holy Family Council 204 and St. Anne’s Society.
She is survived by her sons, Gary Pariseau, Bernard Laxen, and Timothy (Mary) Laxen; a daughter, Gail (Pariseau) Kallenbach; daughters-in-law Barb Pariseau and Linda Pariseau, all of Winsted; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
Edith is further survived by sister and brother-in-law Carol and Gerald Pariseau of Rush City; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Leo and Rita Laxen of Winsted, sister-in-law Ella Laxen of Winsted; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Leon and Marilyn Laxen Kegler of Bubbit; sister-in-law Mixie Schlagel of Winsted; brother-in-law Paul Millerbernd of Winsted; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Ella Parsons; husbands Leo O. Pariseau and Arthur B. Laxen; son Edward Pariseau; son-in-law Charles Kallenbach; and niece Diane Bloom.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place Thursday, Nov. 15 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted with Father William A. Sprigler as the celebrant. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Friends called Wednesday evening, Nov. 14 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. A combined St. Anne’s Society and Holy Family Council 204 rosary was recited at 4:30 p.m., and a parish prayer service took place at 6 p.m.
Honorary casket bearers were Edith’s grandchildren: Kimberly Schauer, Stacy Stibal, Crystal Laxen, Nicole Bergquist, Jared Pariseau, and Matt Pariseau.
Casket bearers were her grandchildren: Johnathan Laxen, Amy Bauer, Guy Pariseau, Josette Pariseau, Daniel Pariseau, and Samantha Lemke.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
