Bernardine “Bernie” D. Luffey, age 93, of Delano, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007 at the Haven Homes in Maple Plain.
She was born April 26, 1914 to Cline and Laura (Olena Rued) Canfield in Bufferfield, Minn.
Bernie was preceded in death by her husband, Leo.
She is survived by her children: Patricia Robinson, Marilyn and Tom Daun, Bonita and Merwin Krone, Lorraine and Robert Solstad, Leon Luffey and special friend Denise Kukovec, and Roberta and Chuck Efraimson; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; brothers Neal and Shirley Canfield, and Archie and Alice Canfield; sister Lorraine Dahlberg; and special friend Mark Coleman.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Saturday, Dec. 1 at 10 a.m. at the St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano with the Rev. Michael Miller officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Visitation was Friday, Nov. 30 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano, and continued Saturday at the church from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to Mass.
Casket bearers were Bernie’s grandsons Ted Robinson, Mark Robinson, Leighton Robinson, Roger Robinson, Jon Robinson, Jeremy Luffey, Jared Vogt, Andy Solstad, Robert Solstad, and Shane Krone. Honorary bearers were Bernie’s grandsons Thomas Daun Jr., Jeff Daun, and Kirk Efraimson. Additional honor guard was provided by the Zuhrah Shrine Horse Patrol.
Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
