Warren O. Magnuson

Warren O. Magnuson, age 81, of Delano, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007 at the Haven Homes in Maple Plain, after an extended hospitalization at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

He was born Dec. 5, 1925 to Oscar and Gazella (Brahn) Magnuson in Maple Plain.

Warren loved to drive. He worked as a driver for Standard Oil Co, Delano Schools, Delano Granite Works, Buffalo Bituminous, and Star West Chevrolet through February 2006. He also chauffeured friends and family on airport runs and to attend the boys’ high school basketball tournaments.

Warren especially enjoyed being involved with his family and their lives, as well as socializing with friends and his Delano community. He will be sadly missed by all.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Lila Magnuson; brother-in-law Gerald Ahlm; and sister-in-law Jeanne Krotzer.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen; children Kathie and Glen Miller, Lori and Mike Mathisen, and Doug and Rhonda Magnuson; seven grandchildren: Kristi and Eric Engelmann, Tricia and Gary Larson, Rachel Miller and Bryan Rother, Cole Mathisen, Amanda Magnuson, Cody Mathisen, and Madison Magnuson; two great-grandchildren, Jaelyn Rother and Ethan Engelmann; a sister, Jeannette Ahlm; and his stepmother, Ina Magnuson.

Funeral services took place Saturday, Jan. 13 at the Delano United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Beard officiating.

Visitation was from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, prior to services.

Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
