Jerome “Jerry” Michael McNulty, age 72, of Maple Plain, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007, at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, Nov. 5 at 9:30 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delano, preceded by a gathering of family and friends for one hour prior to the Mass at the church. The Rev. Michael Miller will officiate, with interment in the Ft. Snelling National Cemetery at 1 p.m. Monday in Assembly Lane 2. Full military honors will be provided by the memorial rifle squad at Ft. Snelling, with additional military honors provided by the Delano American Legion Post. 377.
Honorary bearers will be Mark Geier, Jim Freitag, Christopher McNulty, John Freitag, Jim McNulty, and Christopher Raskob. Active bearer will be Jerry’s son, Michael McNulty.
After attending De La Salle High Schoo, Jerry served honorably with great pride for our country in the US Army in Korea. He was a member of the Delano American Legion Post 377.
Jerry retired from Sterling Electric.
He enjoyed life, family, and friends, and had a great love for music. Jerry had a strong sense of pride and comfort at home on his land.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Marianne; daughter Michelle Heitz and Mark Geier of Plymouth; son Michael and Janet McNulty of Moose Lake; grandchildren Danielle and Annalise Heitz, and Christopher, Joanie, Logan and Conner McNulty; sister Bonnie and Wally Freitag of New Hope; brother Dennis and Peggy McNulty of Garrison; and also his puppy, Cali.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Harriet and James McNulty; and sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou and Jerome Raskob.
Arrangements are by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
