LaVerne M. Molnau
LaVerne M. Molnau, age 91, of Waconia, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006 at Good Samaritan Center in Waconia.
She was born Nov. 29, 1915 in New Germany, the daughter of Paul and Louise (Nimz) Schmakel. LaVerne was baptized Dec. 19, 1915 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany, and confirmed April 28, 1929 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia.
LaVerne was united in marriage to Edwin E. Molnau June 25, 1935 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia by the Rev. William Schneider.
A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, LaVerne enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She loved each and every social event at Westview Acres during the past four years.
LaVerne was active in numerous church organizations, and was an honorary member of the Seniors for Christ. She was also a member of the Senior Citizen Organization of Waconia, Minn.
After failing health in November, LaVerne moved to Good Samaritan in Waconia, where she resided until the time of her death.
LaVerne was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; son and daughter-in-law Dr. DuWayne and Shirley Molnau, great-grandson Alec Molnau; parents Paul and Louise Schmakel; father-in-law and mother-in-law Edward and Magdelene Molnau; and brother-in-law Alvin Molnau.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Dr. Myron and Corrine Molnau of Moscow, Idaho, Richard and Pauline Molnau of Waconia, and Diane Hoese of Waconia; and grandchildren Janet Molnau, Jodi and Mark Anderson, Julie and David Hahn, Wade and Theresa Molnau, Andrew and Monica Molnau, Michael and Leyla Molnau, Michelle and Tony Honebrink, Mark Molnau, Matt Molnau, Michon and Dan Stark, Madeline and John Perrill, Lisa and Robert Ingvalson, Brian and Shannon Hoese, Eric Hoese, and Nathan Hoese.
LaVerne is further survived by great-grandchildren Kevin and Rochelle Anderson, Amy and Jeffrey Hahn, Devin, Brenna and Elizabeth Molnau, Chelsea, Candon and Chandra Honebrink, Samuel and Audrey Stark, Alyson, Anna, Jack, and Kate Perrill, Cori Molnau, Amanda, Brita and Mitchell Ingvalson, Lauren and Logan Hoese, and Jordan Hoese; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Ruth and Christopher Faye of Mankato; cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 4 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia with the Rev. Peter Peitsch officiating. Interment was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Waconia.
Casket bearers were her grandchildren.
Arrangements were by the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia.
