Denise Lynn Narhi
Denise Lynn Narhi, age 44, of Atlantic Mine, Mich., died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007 after being struck by a vehicle while walking by her home.
She was born in Minneapolis Nov. 8, 1962, the daughter of Dick and MaryAnn (Barber) Wuollet. Denise attended Dassel-Cokato schools, graduating in 1981.
She worked as a nurse’s aide in Cokato, and at Baker’s Square and Target in Minneapolis.
Denise was united in marriage to Roy Narhi July 28, 1984. The couple moved to Atlantic Mine in 2001, and were co-owners of Sheldon’s Pastries and Bakery in Houghton, Mich. Denise had just started working at the Houghton Public Library.
She enjoyed photography, the outdoors, sewing and making crafts, and most recently, cake decorating.
Denise was preceded in death by her grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her husband, Roy; four sons, David and Pam of Norfolk, Va., Brent and Carmen of Lake Elsinore, Calif., Keith, and Alan, both at home; a daughter, Annika, also at home; and a granddaughter, Aili, of Norfolk, Va.
Denise is further survived by her parents, Dick and MaryAnn Wuollet of Cokato; two sisters, Debbie and Pete Halonen of Cokato, and Cheryl and Mike Niemela of Cokato; one brother, Mark Wuollet of Cokato; her father- and mother-in-law, Sheldon and Ida Narhi of Houghton, Mich.; two sisters-in-law, Jean Kangas of Gwinn, Mich., and Doreen and John Thibeau of Marquette, Mich.; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and brothers and sisters in faith.
Funeral service was Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 11 a.m. at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Houghton, Mich. with Pastor Richard Eskola officiating. Interment was in the Mountain View Cemetery.
Friends called from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3 at the church, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
