Kent G. Peterson obituary, 6/7/07


Kent Gustaf Peterson, age 60, of Cokato, died Thursday, June 7, 2007 at the Cokato Manor.
He was born Sept. 12, 1946 at the Cokato Hospital to Carl and Marjorie (Hanson) Peterson. Kent grew up in Cokato and graduated from Cokato High School.
He continued his education at Willmar Technical College and earned a degree in sales and marketing.
Kent was employed at Peterson Pharmacy in Cokato until it was sold to the Keavneys in 1975. He then went to work at Pamida in Litchfield for a time.
Kent and his father, Carl, moved to Lake Washington after selling the pharmacy, and Kent then moved back to Cokato.
Kent was very active in Boy Scouts of America, the Viking Council. He achieved the level of Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow.
He enjoyed music, woodworking, and computers.
Kent is survived by his sister, Adelle Helmle of Racine, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Marjorie.
Funeral service was Thursday, June 12 at 10 a.m. at the Cokato Manor Chapel with the Rev. John Peterson officiating. Music was provided by Lynda Peterson and Toni Thorson. Interment was in the Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Cokato.
Kent’s friends were his casket bearers.
Arrangements were provided by the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Cokato and Howard Lake.
