Elaine G. Reinitz
Elaine G. Reinitz, age 69, of Chaska, died Saturday Sept. 29, 2007 at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee.
She was born Nov. 14, 1937 in Waconia, the daughter of Herbert and Lillian (Schneewind) Parpart. Elaine was baptized Dec. 12, 1937 at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Bongards, and confirmed at the same church March 22, 1951.
Elaine graduated from Waconia High School class of 1955.
She was united in marriage to Harley D. Reinitz Sept. 14, 1957 at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Bongards.
Elaine was a cook at St. John’s Lutheran School in Chaska for more than 25 years.
A loving wife, mom, and grandma, she loved to dance, play sheephead, listen to old tyme music, go fishing, play bingo, and do crafts.
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Harley; parents Herbert Schneewind and Lillian Schneewind Wessbecker; stepfather Grover Wessbecker; father-in-law and mother-in-law Fredrick and Gertrude Reinitz; sister-in-law Pearl McPadden; and brothers-in-law Lloyd and Kenneth Reinitz.
She is survived by her loving family: children and spouses James and Cheryl Reinitz of Marine on St. Croix, Janeen Lano and fiancé Rick Reigstad of Chanhassen, Janelle Reinitz of Chaska, Jon and Becky Reinitz of Wadena, Joel and Nancy Reinitz of Waconia, Jerome and Dawn Reinitz of Rogers, and Jill and Neal Heminger of Richfield; and grandchildren Kathryn Reinitz, Stephanie and Jennifer Lano, Jeremy, Justin and Jared Reinitz, Tyler and Austin Reinitz, Courtney and Danielle Reinitz, and Rachel Heminger.
Elaine is further survived by sister and brother-in-law Mavis and Max Prinzing of Redwood Falls; brother and sister-in-law Duane and Betty Schneewind of Cologne; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Glenn and Delores McPadden of Annandale, Wayne and Donna Reinitz of Glencoe, Delores Dreier of Glencoe, Frieda Reinitz of Hutchinson; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was Wednesday Oct. 3 at 1 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Chaska with the Rev. Gregory Snow officiating. Interment was at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Chaska.
Chapel services were conducted by the Rev. Larry Christianson, chaplain of Auburn Manor Chaska, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening, Oct. 2.
Elaine’s children were her casket bearers.
Arrangements were with the Johnson Funeral Home, Waconia.
