Iris M. Ristow, age 80, of Mayer, died Thursday Feb. 8, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waconia.
Iris was born Aug. 1, 1926 at Aquadilla, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Santiago and Carmen (Vazquez) Morales.
She married Henry A. Ristow June 6, 1944 in Aquadilla, Puerto Rico.
Iris enjoyed the catering and the restaurant business, as well as her job at Tonka Toys. She was a seamstress at the Waldorf Historia early in her life, and her talent continued on as she enjoyed sewing for her family.
She loved going to church and singing praises to her Lord Jesus Christ; as well as spending time with her grandchildren, and going dancing.
Iris was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; daughter Betty Ristow; parents Santiago and Carmen Morales; brothers Santiago Morales, Nelson Morales, and Johnny Morales; sister Eva Morales; brother-in-law Manuel AlVarez; and sisters-in-law Dorothy Morales, Lucy Morales, and Gladys Lopez.
She is survived by her loving family: daughters and son-in-law Nancy and Don Menzel of Mayer, and Susan Ristow of New Lisborn, Wis.; grandchildren, Robert Ristow, Michael Erickson, Shawn Farber, Eva Java, Tressa Erickson, Leah Menzel, Amy Werth, and Jonathan Holloman; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Iris is further survived by brothers and sisters-in-law Oscar and Olga Monroe, and Tony Lopez, of North Carolina; sisters and brother-in-law Claria AlVarez of North Carolina, and Ines and Emiloiano Rivera of New York; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law August and Luella Ristow of Norwood Young America, Otto Ristow of Mayer, Sophie and Wilfred Hasse of Mayer, and Dorothy Wuetherich of Lester Prairie; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Services took place Monday, Feb. 12 at 11 a.m. at the Prairie Community Church UCC in Lester Prairie, with the Rev. Bill Baldwin officiating. Interment was in Lester Prairie Public Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Robert Ristow, Michael Erickson, Jonathan Holloman, Abigail Ristow, Izaak Erickson, and Todd Java
Arrangements were with the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia.
