Ann K. Schmidt
Ann K. Schmidt, age 64, of Waconia, formerly of Maple Plain, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2007 at the Elim Home in Watertown.
She was born March 22, 1942 at Watertown, the daughter of Ralph H. and Muriel A. (Kusske) Maass. She was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Mayer, and confirmed at the same March 25, 1956.
Ann was united in marriage to Orlyn V. Schmidt Nov. 4, 1958 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Watertown Township.
A loving wife, mom, grandma, daughter, sister, and aunt, Ann had a beautiful smile, and enjoyed life and being with people. She made everyone feel special when she was around them.
Ann was a member of the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Watertown Twp.
She is survived by her loving family: husband, Orlyn “Buddy” Schmidt of Waconia; children, Todd Schmidt of Albertville, Kim Plocher of New Germany, and Terry Schmidt of Minneapolis; and grandchildren, Justin, Ashley, Cody, and Alysia.
Ann is further survived by her father, Ralph Maass and special friend Joanne Dressel of Norwood Young America; sister and brother-in-law Bonnie and Eugene Grimm of Waconia; brother and sister-in-law Randy and Joan Maass of Norwood Young America; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Linus and Beverly Schmidt of Watertown, Ronald and Joyce Schmidt of Maple Plain, Donald and JoAnn Eder of Maple Plain, and Joyce Sheffield of Wyoming; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Michael “Mike” Schmidt; mother Muriel Maass; and grandparents Edward and Anna Kusske, and John and Katherine Maass.
A memorial service took place Tuesday Jan. 9 at 11 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia with the Rev. David Winter officiating. Interment was at Crow River Cemetery, New Germany.
