Dean W. Schmidt
Dean W. Schmidt, age 41, of Buffalo, formerly of Loretto, died Monday, May 7, 2007 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer.
Dean was a Buffalo city council member and served on the planning and zoning commission in Buffalo. He was also a Buffalo youth hockey and soccer coach.
In Loretto, Dean served as a former city council member and as the mayor of Loretto. He also served as a member of the volunteer fire department and the volunteer police reserve in Loretto.
Dean is survived by his loving wife, Terri; sons, Tyler, Blake, Austin, and Mason; parents, John (Nancy) Schmidt; brother David (Sherral) Schmidt; sisters Deborah Schmidt and Diane Koebele; father-in-law Warren Osgood; mother-in-law Nancy Welch; brother-in-law Greg (Lynn) Osgood; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was Friday, May 11 at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo with private interment at Lakeview Cemetery.
Visitation took place Thursday, May 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the church, and continued Friday for one hour prior to the funeral service.
Tbe Peterson Chapel in Buffalo served the family.
