John P. Soberg, age 45, of Delano, peacefully went to his heavenly home Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, after a brief courageous battle with cancer.
He was born Feb. 18, 1962, to Maurice and Alice (Meyerson) Soberg in St. Paul.
John was a beloved friend and mentor to many. He was a lifelong seeker of knowledge, a lifelong entrepreneur, and the owner of Profix.
He served as a member of the board of directors of the Minnesota Film and TV Board, chair of Snowbate Operations Committee, and director of Shoot Minnesota.
John was preceded in death by his brother, Dan; sister Grace; and his grandparents.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Tarryn; sons Zach, Alex, Daniel, and Benjamin; parents Maurice and Alice Soberg; siblings Debbie and Dennis Felland, Mark and Patty Soberg, Rachel and David Dickey, Nathan and Kathy Soberg, and Paul and Kari Soberg; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Friday, Nov. 16 at the Light of Christ Lutheran Church in Delano with Pastor Gary Weisbrod officiating. Interment was in the Reno Mission Cemetery in Lowry, Minn.
Casket bearers were David Hauge, Michael Hauge, Don Meyerson, Scott Meyerson, Nathan Voeller, and Tad Pritchett.
Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
