Rose A. Sommerfeld obituary, 8/21/07


Rose A. Sommerfeld, age 48, of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Dassel, died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007 at her home in Las Vegas.
She was born May 2, 1959 to Donald and Lillian Peterson in Dassel. Rose grew up and attended school in Dassel, graduating from Dassel Cokato High School.
She then moved to California, where she lived and worked for several years.
In 1987, Rose moved to Las Vegas, where she married Ron Sommerfeld.
She worked for a home builder corporation, selling advertising; and US Foods Corporation.
Her husband, Ron, died in March of 2000.
Rose is survived by her mother, Lillian Mohs, and stepfather Vern Mohs, both of Fairmount, N.D.; four sisters, Kathy (Donnie) Nelson of Dassel, Melissa Krueger of Hutchinson, Amy (Wade) Viehauser of Grove City, and Pam Savage of Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers, Dan (Lisa) Peterson of Watkins, and Joel (Debbie) Peterson of Austin, Minn.; several aunts and uncles; 16 nieces and nephews; and eight great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, Donald Peterson, Sr.; a brother, Donald Jr.; a niece, Alex Rose Krueger; and her grandparents.
The funeral service took place at the Palm Mortuary Chapel in Las Vegas, with interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Las Vegas.
