Marcella F. Staloch
Marcella F. Staloch, age 85, of Winnebago, formerly of Dassel, died Sunday, May 20, 2007 at the Mapleton Community Home in Mapleton.
She was born Jan. 30, 1922 in Dassel, the daughter of Maurice and Evelyn M. (Colin) O’Keefe.
Marcella attended country school is District 88 and graduated from Dassel High School in 1940. She continued her education, graduating from Mankato Beauty School, and was employed by the Lorenz Beauty Shop in Mankato.
Marcella married Henry W. Staloch Oct. 8, 1946 in Hutchinson. They lived and farmed in Nashville Twp. for 61 years, until retirement in 1984.
A member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Winnebago, Marcella was active in the Rosary Society, and as a member of the American Legion Post 82 Auxiliary.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and going to their lake home at Longville.
Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; her parents; and two brothers.
She is survived by sons Thomas and wife, Judy, of Winnebago, and James and wife, Vicki, of Waseca; daughter Marie and husband Lynn Olson of Amboy; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Doris Dallmann of Cokato; and sisters-in-law Jean Staloch of Winnebago, and Glenette Staloch of Olympia, Wash.
Funeral services were Wednesday, May 23 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Winnebago with the Rev. Mark McNea officiating. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Winnebago.
Visitation took place Tuesday, May 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago, with a Rosary recited at 7:30 p.m.; and continued Wednesday, one hour prior to the services at the church.
Arrangements were by the Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago.
