Rolland E. Ulrich, age 68, of Watertown, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2007.
He was born May 8, 1939, in Buffalo Lake, Minn., the son of Benjamin C. and Meta I. (Kuester) Ulrich. Rolland was baptized June 4, 1939, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake by the Rev. H. Appel, and confirmed June 6, 1954, at the same church by the Rev. William Uhrich.
Rolland loved to attend auctions, sales, and flea markets, and he enjoyed collecting cars. One of Rolland’s talents was small engine repair.
He also liked to go out to eat, and enjoyed being outside cutting wood, walking, and watching the birds. Rolland will be remembered as a helper to everyone.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Meta Ulrich; brothers Melvin Ulrich and Benjamin Ulrich Jr.; and special extended family, Walter and Rosella Neumann, and Francis Jones.
Rolland is survived by his loving family, beloved Darlene L. Schmidt of Watertown; son Craig Schmidt of Watertown; brother and sister-in-law Les and Edith Ulrich of Savage; sister and brother-in-law Donna and Wayman Peterson of Cosmos; sister-in-law Darlene Ulrich of Hamburg; special friends Sandra Jones of Watertown, Walter and Kay Neumann of Watertown, Wilfred and Linda Neumann of Norwood, and Rose and Owen Fuglseth of Mound; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service took place Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 11 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia with the Rev. Peter Peitsch officiating. Interment was at the Watertown Public Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Scott Peterson, Jeffrey Ulrich, Curtis Ulrich, Walter Neumann, Wilfred Neumann, and Owen Fuglseth.
Arrangements were with the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia.
