Shelly Diane Wagner obituary, 6/13/07


Shelly Diane (Vetsch) Wagner, age 42, of Cokato, died Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
She was born March 13, 1965, at the St. Mary’s Hospital in Minneapolis. Shelly was baptized and confirmed at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly.
She was united in marriage to Mark Wagner July 17, 1992 in Shakopee. Together, they made their home in Shakopee for a few years before they moved to Prior Lake. They then moved to Montgomery, Minn., where they made their home for eight years before moving to their new home in rural Cokato.
Shelly was a caregiver. She loved taking care of people and worked for Along Side Services in Cokato for the past few years. She enjoyed the times that she spent with family and friends, and loved to play card games.
Shelly gave of herself to her family and friends, even in her death when she gave the gift of a second chance at life. She will deeply be missed by family and friends.
Shelly is survived by her husband, Mark of Cokato; children, Kalvin, Anna, and Bethany Wagner of Cokato; mother and stepfather, Janice and Roger Flatten of Litchfield; siblings, Kelly Wade of Chaska, Kent Vetsch of Cokato, Shari (Shannon) Palm of Dassel, Terry Ellingson of Hutchinson, and Vicki (Craig) Dunn of Cokato; her mother-in-law, Germaine Wagner of Shakopee; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and brothers-in law and sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Amanda; father, James Vetsch; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
The funeral service took place Saturday, June 16 at 2:30 p.m. at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel. Interment was at the Lake Arvilla Cemetery in rural Dassel.
Visitation was Friday evening, June 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel, and continued for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up at the State Bank of Cokato in memory of Shelly.
Arrangements were handled by the Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel.
