Elizabeth Lydia Weber, age 95, died Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.
She was born April 21, 1912 in Nazareth, Tex., the daughter of Charles and Josephine Millerbernd Guggemos.
Elizabeth was baptized April 22, 1912 at Holy Family Church in Nazareth.
The Guggemos family later moved to the farm in the Winsted area.
Elizabeth married Daniel Weber at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted April 24, 1934. They farmed in the Winsted area.
She liked to sew, quilt, read, garden, and grow African violets. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.
Elizabeth is survived by six children: Alma Sybrant, Charles (Rosemary) Weber, Carol Nelson, Rueben (Mertis) Weber, Mark (Carol) Weber, and Gary (Margie) Weber; 31 grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Josephine Guggemos; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Weber in November, 1979; a daughter, Rose Weber; a son, Jim Weber; her parents, Charles and Josephine Guggemos; seven brothers, Joe, John, Charles, Al, Arnold, Greg, and Eugene; a grandson, R. Daniel John Lynch; a great-grandson, Severin Weber; and a step-great-granddaughter, Janel Rynders.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Elizabeth Weber will take place Monday, June 11, at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Paul L. Wolf will officiate. Mark Ochu will be the organist for the funeral Mass. Interment will followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
A visitation took place Sunday, June 10, 4-8 p.m. at The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. A Prayer Service was at 7 p.m. Further visitation will take place Monday, June 11, 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Casket Bearers are Kent Weber, Brad Weber, Steve Weber, Dean Hausladen, Richard Lynch, Jerry Lynch, JoAnne Walen, and Ann Horstmann.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
