Lyle David Barth, age 66, of Cokato, formerly of Isle, MN and Howard Lake, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2008, at the Cokato Manor.
He was born Feb. 9, 1942, on the Middleville Township family farm to Albert and Ada (Hankel) Barth. Lyle and his brother, Dale, were very young when their mother, Ada died.
Their father married Margaret Gray and they became a whole family again when Margaret and her two sons, Howard and Jim, joined them at the farm. The family eventually included five more brothers and sisters.
Lyle was baptized and confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake. He was a 1960 graduate of Howard Lake High School.
He married Kim Peterson June 25, 1988.
Lyle was employed by Graco, Inc. of Minneapolis for 32 years when he retired because of illness.
He and Kim enjoyed visiting with good friends and neighbors, watching sports on TV, and gardening at their home in Isle.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Kim; daughter Becky (Tom) Boie; granddaughters Alexandra and Kaitlyn; great-grandson Aaron; stepdaughter Marie (Eric) Butler, Austin, Caleb, and Isabelle; stepson Jeremy (Michelle) Peterson, Blake and Ethan; brothers Howard (Gerri), Jim (Echo), Dale (Renee), Albert (Joyce), John (Marge), Mark, Brian (Patti), and Dan (Raine); and sisters Jane (Erin) and Judi; mother-in-law Adele Breault; sister-in-law Kathy (Jerod) Johnson; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Merlin; parents; stepmother and father-in-law DuWayne Breault.
Memorial service took place Tuesday, Dec. 16 at the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Howard Lake. Interment will be at Howard Lake Cemetery at a later date.
