Isadore Benedict Bayerl Obituary – 06/05/08


Isadore Benedict Bayerl, age 91, of Winsted, died Thursday, June 5, 2008, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.

He was born Jan. 7, 1917, in Winsted Township, McLeod County, the son of Joseph and Johanna Bayerl.

Isadore honorably served his country in the United States Air Force.

He was formerly employed as a auto mechanic for over 40 years by his brother, Andy, at Andy’s Repair in Winsted.

Isadore was a life-long member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. He also was a 60-year member of Winsted American Legion Post 407.

He is survived by his loving brother, Ernest Bayerl of Winsted; three nieces; two nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Isadore was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Johanna Bayerl; a brother, Andy Bayerl; two sisters-in-law, Martha Bayerl and Janet Bayerl; and by a nephew, Gary Corr.

A Mass of Christian Burial took place Tuesday, June 10 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Bill Sprigler was the celebrant. Interment with military rites followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.

Friends called Monday, June 9 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Chapel at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted. Further visitation took place Monday evening, June 9 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, with an American Legion ritual at 7 p.m.

Honorary casket bearers were Isadore’s great nieces.

Casket bearers were Joe Bayerl, Nathan Bayerl, Nicholas Mathews, Ron Bayerl, Lorin Cacka, and Matt Corr.

The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
