Robert “Bob” Nedly Birkholz, age 45, of Newport, died suddenly Monday, April 21, 2008, at his home.
Nedly and Barbara (nee Tuckenhagen) Birkholz was blessed with a son, whom they named Robert Nedly Birkholz, in Burlington, Iowa March 8, 1963. Bob was baptized at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake April 14, 1963.
Over the years, Bob loved to watch the Vikings and Twins, and he also enjoyed dancing, fishing, and camping with his aunt.
Bob will be best remembered as a guy who had a big heart and “never met a stranger.” He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Nedly Birkholz; and by a half-sister, Delana Birkholz.
Bob is survived by his mother, Barbara Reeves; sisters Wendy and Sandy Birkholz; niece Laura Birkholz; half-brother James (Paula) Reeves; niece Megan Reeves, all of Corbin, Ky.; stepmother Roxanne Birkholz of Boy River; half-brother Ned (Sonya) Birkholz of Big Lake; half-sisters Melinda (Sean) Warner of Ham Lake, and Rachel Johnson of Big Lake; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives; and many good friends.
Funeral service was Thursday, April 24 at 7 p.m. at the Peterson Chapel Buffalo Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 4 p.m.
