Calvin Ray Boreen, age 75, of LeSueur, and formerly of Dassel, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at the Gardenview Nursing Home in LeSueur.
Calvin was born July 5, 1932, in Dassel, to Herbert and Mayme Boreen.
He graduated from Dassel High School in 1950.
Calvin married Joyce Lund July 18, 1952, in Dassel, and they farmed the family farm.
They moved to Bloomington in 1955, where Calvin operated Cal’s Direct Service Station on Lyndale and 96th Street.
In 1969, they moved to the St. Thomas area, where Calvin drove truck for Twin Cities Liquid Feed, out of Savage. He retired in 1993, due to ill health.
Calvin was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, in 1995.
He is survived by his loving friend, Joyce Solomonson; children: Mary (John) Miska of Montgomery, Sharon (Douglas) Hillstrom of Belle Plaine, Kim (Shawn) Blaschko of LeCenter, Teresa (special friend Henry Wolf) of LeSueur, Kevin (special friend Tina Kahl) Boreen of Browerville, Diane (Maynard) Haas of LeSueur, and Randy (Ellen) Boreen of Arlington; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Betty) Boreen of Dassel; and a sister, Harriet (Eldon) Johnson of Chicago, Ill.
The funeral service took place Monday, March 10 at 10:30 a.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in LeSueur. Interment was in the Dassel Cemetery.
