Robert J. “Bob” Borrell, age 86, of Watertown, died Saturday, April 5, 2008, at Elim Home in Watertown.
He was born May 28, 1921, to Charles and Mary (O’Connell) Borrell in Waverly.
Bob was known by many in the Watertown community as their favorite school bus driver in their younger years, or their friendly used car salesman and corny joke teller. He enjoyed visiting with anyone stopping in to buy or sell a car, or just say hi, no matter what the weather.
Bob was an active member of the Watertown Lions Club for many years. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown, and enjoyed traveling with his wife throughout the United States.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Borrell; and his brother, Raymond Borrell.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, June; three children: Robert Barry, Brad, and Becky; grandson Nicolas; brother and sister-in-law James and Verdella Borrell; and sister Loretta Schmidt.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, April 11 at 11 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown with the Rev. Frank Wampach officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Gathering of family and friends took place Thursday, April 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church, and continued a Friday for one hour prior to the Mass.
Arrangements were by the Iten’s Watertown Funeral Home.
