Margaret Elaine Brabec, age 82, of rural Waverly, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 3, 1926, in Woodland Township, Wright County, the daughter of Charles A. and Sophie R. Danek Brabec.
Margaret attended District 37 country school and graduated from Howard Lake High School in 1943.
Following her high school graduation, she was formerly employed at Western Union, Glenwood Maternity Hospital, and at NSP. She returned to the family homestead in 1965, and engaged in dairy farming for many years.
Margaret enjoyed flowers, birds, her dog, playing cards. and reading.
She is survived by two sisters, Lorraine Pearson and Edith Howe; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, great, great nieces and great, great nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Sophie Brabec; two brothers, Harold and Charles “Bud” Brabec Jr.; and a sister, Doris J. Karau.
A memorial service took place Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 1 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. Chaplain Bob Haskin officiated, and special music was provided by Christian Nielson. Interment followed at Woodland Cemetery in Woodland Township, Wright County.
A time of gathering preceded the funeral service for one hour at the funeral home.
