Louise M. Brandenburg, age 75, of Mound, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, at her residence in Mound, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 4, 1933, in Shakopee, the daughter of Thomas and Rose (Bongard) Lallak.
Louise was united in marriage to Vernon W. Brandenburg Oct. 30, 1954, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Excelsior.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Louise had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had many hobbies including gardening, quilting, playing cards, beading, knitting, and embroidering.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Rose Lallak; sisters Elizabeth Gordon and Elaine Nelson; and sister-in-law Verna Hassee.
She is survived by her loving family: husband Vernon; children and spouses Linda and Delmer Hilk of Aitkin, Tim and Teresa Brandenburg of Waconia, Sandy and Tony Maghrak of Corcoran, and Lisa and Jim Newton of St. Bonifacius; grandchildren Cory and Jenni Hilk, Melissa Hilk, Steve and Danielle Barkley, Jeremy Brandenburg, Jason Brandenburg, Tom Maghrak, Dan Maghrak, and Rachael Maghrak; great-grandchildren Audrey and Mitchell; brother and sister-in-law Chuck and Linda Lallak of Maple Grove; brother-in-law and wife Cklair and Lorraine Hasse of Glencoe; special cousin Art Mason of Mound; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Saturday Sept. 27 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Mound with visitation two hours prior to the Mass at the church. Father Stan Mader was celebrant of the Mass. Private interment will take place at a later date.
Casket bearers were Louise’s grandchildren: Cory Hilk, Melissa Hilk, Steve Barkley, Jeremy Brandenburg, Jason Brandenburg, Tom Maghrak, Dan Maghrak, and Rachael Maghrak.
