Anna E. Brunberg, age 93, of Maple Plain, formerly of New Germany and Grove City, died Friday, March 28, 2008, at Haven Homes in Maple Plain.
She was born Sept. 25, 1914, in New Germany, the daughter of Samuel and Anna (Zuehl) Ogitzak. Ann was raised in the Lyndale and New Germany areas.
She was united in marriage to Harold Brunberg July 22, 1934, at Stockholm Lutheran Church in Cokato. The couple lived in Heatwole for five years, then moved to Grove City in 1939.
Harold and Ann were married for 57 years.
Ann moved to Maple Plain in 1997, to be closer to family.
She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church while residing in Grove City.
Ann loved gardening, cooking and baking, sewing quilts and dolls’ clothes, coffee parties with her Grove City friends, family gatherings, her rocking chair, and lunches with her sisters.
She is survived by her children: Carol (Mrs. William L.) Nelson of Plymouth, Granice Wieker of Federal Way, Wash., David Brunberg of Champlin, Alice Brunberg of Columbia Heights, and Linda Walter of Blaine; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Adeline Lindstrom of Cokato; sister-in-law Alma Ogitzak of Silver Lake; and several nieces and nephews.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; grandsons Larry Olson and Jeffrey Wieker; son-in-law Kenneth Wieker; sisters Dorothy Baird and Marcella Mikesh; brothers Clarence, Marvin, and Henry Ogitzak; as well as several brothers-in-law.
Funeral services took place Wednesday, April 2 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City with Rev. Dan DeBlock officiating.Interment was in the First Lutheran Cemetery in Grove City.
Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
