James Scott Dooley, age 50, of Redwood Falls, formerly of Waverly, died suddenly Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at Redwood Falls Area Hospital.
He was born April 1, 1957, at St. Francis Hospital of Anaheim, Calif. the son of Albert Leeman Dooley and Violet Kathryn Shavers. James was baptized in California, and attended Fairmont Private School in Anaheim, Calif.
Jim grew up in Garden Grove, Calif.
He met Mary Lyrek and they had a son, Aaron.
He then met and married Margaret Uecker May 10, 1989, in Las Vegas, Nev. They lived in Waverly, and had four children, Shane, Tyler, Dalton, and Arianne. He and Margaret later divorced.
Jim then lived in Las Vegas, Nev., where he helped his ailing mother. He moved to Redwood Falls seven months ago.
Jim enjoyed bowling, playing darts, pool, and video golf games; fishing, watching the Discovery Channel, and football. He also loved to travel.
He is survived by his sons, Aaron Dooley of New York, Shane, Tyler, and Dalton of Howard Lake; daughter Arianne Dooley of Howard Lake; stepdaughter Amanda Uecker of Winsted; ex-wife Margaret R. Uecker, her fiancé Robert Jackson, and their child, Cheyenne Jackson of Howard Lake; a 6-month-old grandson, son of Aaron in New York; sisters Diana Donaldson and Virginia Dooley of Las Vegas, Nev.; and nieces Michelle Rapko and husband Ray of Las Vegas, Nev., Amy Donaldson and son Soul of Oregon, Wendy, her husband John, and their son, Caden, of Oregon, and Rhonda Heintz, her husband Roy, and daughters Erica and Samantha, of California.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Albert; mother Violet; and niece Laurie Shook.
Funeral service was Thursday, Feb. 21 at 4 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Waverly.
