Jacqueline “Jackie” Dotson, age 60, of Montrose, formerly of Niagara Falls, N.Y., died Thursday, June 12, 2008, at her home.
She was born in Niagara Falls, N.Y. May 13, 1948, the daughter of Ernestine Dotson and Charles Travic.
She was united with Christ at age 9. Her baptism, first communion, and confirmation were all at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Niagara Falls.
Jackie enjoyed walking, being out and about socializing, painting, and crocheting. She grew to really enjoy her apartment and the other tenants at Rosehaven Apartments in Montrose.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernestine and Charles; a sister, Shelba; a brother, Herbert “Bo;” and a nephew, Jamaal.
Jackie is survived by her siblings, Ruby, Cookie, Wanda, Janice, Dewitt, Vincent, Walter, and Eric; nieces Nina, Tauna, Cinnamon, Nicole, and Stephanie; nephews Uketo, Demetrius, Jeffery, Rashan, David, Jamel, Supreme, and James Jr.; many cousins, including Gloria Colbert of the Scott family; aunts Inez Allen and Ruth Scott; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Wednesday, June 18 at 2 p.m. at the Peterson Chapel - Buffalo Funeral Home, with visitation for one hour preceding the service. Pastor Ingrid Bloom officiated.
