Harold W. Dressel, age 91, of Waconia, passed away Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at the Auburn Home in Waconia.
He was born May 16, 1917, in Watertown, the son of Charles and Emma (Lohrke) Dressel. Harold was baptized June 17, 1917, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Watertown Township, and confirmed at the same March 29, 1931.
Harold was united in marriage to Mabel L. Mesenbring Aug. 21, 1941, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America by the Rev. W. Kramer.
Harold was very active at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Watertown Twp. He loved fishing, playing cards, and traveling, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel; son Kenneth Dressel; parents Charles and Emma Dressel; brothers Henry, Oscar, Art and Elmer Dressel; and sisters Clara Dressel, Elsie Seck, Dora Lange, and Flora Meinke.
He is survived by his loving family: children and spouses Roger and Carol Dressel of St. Bonifacius, Mary Loehrs and special friend John Hart of Watertown, Carol and Tony Ciavarelli of Lansdale, PA, and Chuck and Doreen Dressel of Waconia; grandchildren Ross Dressel, Rhett and Kate Dressel, Nathan and Lisa Lindner, Andrea and Brad Klatke, Reesa and Mike Jaszewski, Sarah Loehrs and special friend Chris Holt, A.G. and Linda Ciavarelli, Chris and Megan Ciavarelli, Ryan and Kristen Ciavarelli, Heather and Chinmaya Sarangi, and Mike and Kris Dressel; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Harold is further survived by sisters-in-law Lorna Schmidt of Glencoe, and Clara Mesenbring of Cologne; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
The funeral service was Thursday, Nov. 20 at 11:30 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia with the Rev. Phil Wagner officiating. Interment was at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown Twp.
Visitation took place Wednesday, Nov. 19 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia, and continued Thursday for one hour prior to the service at church.
Casket bearers were Ross Dressel, Rhett Dressel, Mike Jaszewski, Chris Holt, A.G. Ciavarelli, and Mike Dressel.
