Alvin A. Felt, age 83, of Watertown, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
He was born Aug. 13, 1924, in Watertown, the son of Albert and Anna (Bauer) Felt. Alvin was baptized Sept. 14, 1924, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Watertown Township, by the Rev. Paul Beck; and confirmed March 21, 1937, at the same church by the Rev. Karl Rudolph.
Alvin was united in marriage to Marjorie V. Johnson July 10, 1948, at Delano Methodist Church in Delano by Rev. Hedtke.
Alvin loved his family, his friends, and his life, which he treated as a gift. He loved to get out in the woods; hunting, fishing, and mowing the lawn were among his favorite outdoor pastimes. He also enjoyed playing dartball, ping-pong, pool, farming, and participating in the Crow River Ramblers Band.
Alvin was very involved with the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, where he served as a church elder, was a member of the church choir, and served on the school board.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Anna Felt; brothers Oscar, Clarence, and Raymond Felt; sisters and brothers-in-law Margie and Rollin Pierce and Myrtle and Gilbert Schilling; father-in-law and mother-in-law John and Amelia Johnson; and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Elvera and Arvid Poutinen, Russell Enos, and Ralph Johnson.
Alvin is survived by his loving family: wife Marjorie; children and spouses, Janet and Scott Emon of Watertown, Julie and Hary Kreslins of Excelsior, Joanne and Garrett Gardner of Minnetonka, June and Craig Peterson of Michigan, and James and Marcie Felt of Mound; and grandchildren, Alicia (Joe) Wernette, Brandon, Jeff and Gina Emon, Anjali, Sunita, Tania Kreslins, Mia (Mike) Brown, Jenelle and Jarrett Gardner, Alyssa and Brian Peterson, and Hannah and Jacob Felt.
He is further survived by sisters-in-law Ruby Felt, Pearl Felt, Lorraine Felt, all of Watertown, and Lucene Enos of Delano; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service took place Thursday, Jan. 31 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Watertown Twp., with the Rev. William Kirmsse officiating. Interment was at the church cemetery.
Casket bearers were Brandon Emon, Jeffrey Emon, Joseph Wernette, Jarrett Gardner, and Brian Peterson.
Arrangements were with the Johnson Funeral Home of Waconia.
