Hilarious Joseph Garding Jr., age 53, of Dassel, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids.
He was born June 12, 1955, in St. Cloud, the son of Hilarious and Evelyn (Faber) Garding. Hilarious received his education in Litchfield.
He was united in marriage to Faye Horwath April 12, 1986.
Hilarious loved to be outdoors, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Faye, of Kingston; children Jessica Campbell (and fiancé Todd Hedlund) of Kingston, Jody Wiederhoft of Litchfield, Cora Munsinger of Willmar, and Samantha Garding (and fiancé Jeremy Matteson) of Grove City; and grandchildren Austin Campbell, Devan Campbell, Carlie Hedlund, Maggie Hedlund, Isis Munsinger, and Aaron Matteson.
Hilarious is further survived by brothers and sisters Donald (and Diane) Garding of Kimball, Kathy (and Herb) Thielen of Richmond, Roger (and Judy) Garding of Glenwood, Jerry (and Betty) Garding of Litchfield, Allen (and Marge) Garding of Hutchinson, Karen (and Luis) Chavira of Arizona, Joyce (and Tom) Wilson of Kimball, Susan (and Lynn) Vennes of Fosston, Annette Oporto of Watkins, Ed (and Patty) Garding of Darwin, and Debbie (and special friend Dave) Garding of Litchfield; and sister-in-law Melody Garding of Watkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilarious and Evelyn Garding; marital parents Lawrence and June Horwath; brother LeRoy Garding; and several nephews.
A memorial service took place Saturday, Sept. 6 at 4 p.m. at the Kingston Community Center, with visitation for two hours preceding the service. The Revs. Mike Nelson and Orv Wirkula officiated.
