Marjorie (Fuller) Gasch, age 80, of Cokato, a long-time resident of Orono, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, after a courageous struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.
She was born Dec. 4, 1927, in Tenafly, N.J.
Marjorie’s first love was her children and grandchildren. Her second love was to contribute her time and energy to community service.
As a long-time resident of Orono, she participated in many community activities including serving as a member of the Orono School District Board of Education, a member of the City of Orono Planning Commission, and as a board member of the Hennepin Technical College. She was a charter member of Calvin Presbyterian Church in Long Lake.
Marjorie was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), the Hubert H. Humphrey Museum, and the Highland History Club.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert H. Gasch Jr.
Marjorie is survived by a daughter, Linda (Stewart); sons, Robert H. III, James, and Gregory; a brother, Robert Fuller; sisters, Carol (Chaffee) and Jean (Sears); 10 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service took place Thursday, Jan. 3 at 2 p.m. at Calvin Presbyterian Church in Long Lake.
Memorials are preferred to the Orono Scholarship Fund, Orono School District, 685 Old Crystal Bay Road, Long Lake, MN 55356.
