Bernard V. Gehlhar, age 80, of Maple Plain, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Funeral service is today, Feb. 25 at 11 a.m. at the Morris Nilsen Chapel, 6527 Portland Ave. S., Minneapolis, with visitation one hour prior to the service, and interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Bernard was born Feb. 11, 1928, in Glenwood, Minn.
He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War.
Bernard was preceded in death by his wife, Rose; and parents, Hazel and Gustav (Foner) Gehlhar.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Joe (Stephanie) Gehlhar, Jerry Gehlhar, and Jayne (Stephen) Beauchaine; grandchildren, Joshua and Sophia Gehlhar and Ella, and Prosper and Deacon Beauchaine; sisters Ethelle (Leo) Fiala, and Beverly (Don) Pfaffe; and a brother, Ervin (Joyce) Gehlhar.
Arrangements are by the Morris Nilsen Chapel.
