Dennis A. Goetz, age 69, of New Germany, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at St. Mary’s Senior Living Center in Winsted.
He was born Feb. 20, 1939, in Hennepin County, the son of Raymond G. and Mildred B. (Terwedo) Goetz.
Dennis was united in marriage to Marion K. (Rohloff) Grimm Sept. 17, 1988, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia by the Rev. Robert Schaeffer.
A loving husband, dad and grandpa, Dennis was always fond of his three granddaughters. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and bird watching, and he loved the outdoors.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Goetz; brother Dwayne Goetz; nephew Steve McPadden; and father-in-law Harry Rohloff.
He is survived by his loving family: wife Marion Goetz; children and spouses Bob Grimm of Norwood Young America, Brenda and Brian Oelfke of Arlington, Annette and Jeff Lamberger of Cologne, Chris Bren of Howard Lake, Dennis and Michelle Goetz Jr. of Waconia, and Daniel Goetz of Eagan; daughter-in-law Bobbie Traxler of NYA; grandchildren Bailey, Broghan, Kali, Zach, Emiley, Merideth, Apryl, Destiny and Dustin, Justin and special friend Julie, Matt and Stephanie, Ben, Joshua, Hannah, Jeffrey, Lavoy; and great-grandchildren Morgyn, Jayce and Annika.
Dennis is further survived by his mother, Mildred Goetz of Waconia; sister and brother-in-law Diane and Glenn McPadden Jr. of NYA; sister Bonnie Petersen and special friend Mike Alling of Danbury, Wis.; sister-in-law Connie Goetz of Waconia; mother-in-law Bernice Rohloff of Delano; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Joan and Robert Wandersee of Aitkin, Karen and Rollie Lamp of Lake Lillian, Daniel Rohloff of Mayer, and Carol and John Lahr of Watertown; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was Saturday May 24 at 11 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia with Ridgeview Hospice Chaplain Bob Haskin officiating. Interment was at the Lakeview Cemetery in Waconia.
Casket bearers were Darwin Goetz, Jeff Lenz, Jon Melchert, Rollie Lamp, Jacob Melchert, and Robert Rutt.
