Mildred B. Goetz, age 87, of Waconia, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
She was born Dece. 11, 1920, in Waconia Twp., the daughter of Albert and Bertha (Rohde) Terwedo. Mildred was baptized Jan. 9, 1921, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia by the Rev. William Schneider, and confirmed by the same April 14, 1935.
Mildred married Raymond G. Goetz Oct. 5, 1939, in Carver.
Mildred worked very hard on the farm helping with chores and milking the cows. She also worked at Tonka Toys.
She enjoyed baking, sewing, canning, embroidering, reading, dancing, crossword puzzles, fishing, listening to old tyme music, gardening, and especially flowers. Mildred cherished spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; sons Dennis and Dwayne Goetz; grandson Steve McPadden; parents Albert and Bertha Terwedo; mother-in-law and father-in-law Helen and Mathew Goetz; brothers and sisters-in-law Bob and Ann Terwedo, Albert and Margaret Terwedo, Frank and Mae Terwedo, and Charles and Amanda Terwedo; twin brother Clarence Terwedo; sisters and brothers-in-law Alvina and Walter Schmakel, Emma and Emil Zellmann, Esther and Florian Shonka, and John Galvin; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Tom and Frieda Goetz, Clarence and Myrtle Goetz, Martin and Marie Goetz, Ruben Goetz, Vincent Goetz, Sylvester and Juliet Goetz, Elmer and Marie Goetz, Ella and Ray Hauwiller, Florence “Toots” and George Perusse.
Mildred is survived by her loving family: daughters and son-in-law Diane and Glenn McPadden Jr. of Norwood Young America, and Bonnie Peterson and special friend Mike Alling of Danbury, Wis.; daughters-in-law Connie Goetz of Waconia, and Marion Goetz of New Germany; grandchildren Annette and Jeff Lamberger, Christine Bren, Dennis and Shelly Goetz Jr., Daniel Goetz, Darwin and Alisa Goetz, David Goetz, Gregory and Emily Goetz, Sherrie and Jeff Hoen, Brenda and Brad Schultz, Amie and Mike Miller, Jaimee McPadden, Gary and Jessica Peterson, Carol and Troy Homme, John Peterson and special friend Sally, and Brenda and Brian Oelfke; 35 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She is further survived by sisters and brother-in-law Appie Galvin of Hopkins, and Helen and Orle Lentz of Waconia; sisters-in-law Verna Goetz, and LuAnna Goetz, both of Waconia; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
The funeral service was Friday, Aug. 29 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia with the Rev. David Winter officiating. Interment was at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Waconia.
Mildred’s grandsons were her casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers were her granddaughters.
