Theodore “Ted” Charles Hansen, age 87, of New York Mills, formerly of Dassel, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2008, at the Elders Home in New York Mills.
He was born July 4, 1921, in Lake Lillian, MN, the son of Charles and Freeda (Maple) Hansen. Ted grew up in the Darwin and Dassel area, where he attended district schooling for his education.
A hard worker, Ted had been employed at First District in Litchfield, and had also been employed at a turkey plant in Litchfield. After retiring, he moved up north to be near his sister, Elphie.
Ted enjoyed a quiet, simple life. He kept to himself, and always enjoyed moving to new places.
He is survived by his sister, Elphie Miller of Menahga; and several nieces and nephews.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Freeda and Charles; two brothers, Jim Hansen and Elmer Hansen; and a sister, Shirley Gilbert.
The funeral service was Friday, Oct. 17 at 2 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel, with visitation for one hour prior to the service. Interment was at the Dassel Cemetery.
The Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel handled the arrangements.
