Barbara I. Johnson, age 67, of Watertown, died Tuesday April 22, 2008, at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
Barbara was born Feb. 28, 1941, in Watertown, the daughter of Richard and Irene (Tester) Carlson.
She was united in marriage to Merlyn G. “Fats” Johnson May 25, 1963, in Delano.
Barbara was a resident of Watertown for the past 50 years. She was an avid sports fan, had lots of fun on her bingo outings at the casino, and immensely enjoyed her daily walks with her beloved springer spaniel, Chances R.
Barb took great pleasure in spending time with her family, with whom she was very close.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Merlyn “Fats” Johnson; parents Richard and Irene Carlson; and a brother, Glen Carlson.
Barb is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Mary Lou Carlson of Waconia, James and Melba Carlson of Glencoe, George Carlson of Missouri, and Elwood Carlson of Hutchinson; sisters Irene Carlson of New Hope, and Mary Ann Lindner of Glencoe; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Geraldine and Don Schmidt of Winsted, Arvilla Lhotka of Waconia, and Dorothy and Paul Kerber of Osseo; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
A memorial service took place Friday April 25 at 2 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia with Chaplain Bob Haskin officiating. Interment was at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown.
