Lydia Cecelia Kopesky, age 91, of Winsted, and formerly of Hutchinson and Hopkins, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008 at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
She was born Nov. 18, 1916, in Silver Lake, the daughter of Rudolph and Anna (Nemec) Mazan.
Lydia was an avid gardener. She loved to fish, play bingo, crochet, and spend time with her family.
She was a member of ZCBJ Lodge 11 in Hopkins.
Lydia is survived by her daughters, Donna (John) Reese and Rodann (Randy) Anderson; sons Duane (Mary Jo) Kopesky and Bruce (Judy) Kopesky; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marcella Koktan; special friend Eleanor Kucera; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Kopesky, in 1979; a daughter, Beverly; a granddaughter, Deborah; and by a sister, Ethel.
Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 11 at 10 a.m. at the Chapel at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted with Father Eugene Brown officiating. Interment will be in Hackensack, Minn. at a later date.
Honorary casket bearers were Lydia’s grandchildren.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
