Doris Anne Krueger, age 90, of Cokato, formerly of Dassel, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008, at the Cokato Manor.
She was born Aug. 11, 1917, in Winthrop, the daughter of Emil and Selma (Erickson) Leff. Doris grew up in Winthrop and graduated from the Winthrop High School.
She was united in marriage to Erwin Albert Krueger Aug. 17, 1939, in Winthrop. Together, they made their home in Gibbon for eight years, before moving to a farm near Dassel.
Doris enjoyed crocheting lace doilies, reading, word search, and visiting with family and friends. She and Erwin spent many years wintering in Texas.
A quiet, gentle soul, Doris touched the heart of everyone who had the privilege of meeting her, and she will deeply be missed by her family and friends.
Doris is survived by her children, Ron (Betty) Krueger of Ocala, Fla., Jim (Judi) Krueger of North Branch, Diane (Dick) Bromstad of The Villages, Fla., and Dale (Cathy) Krueger of Duluth; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Everett (Cordula) Leff of Hector; and a sister, Mary Lois (Harold) Gee of Tuscan, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Erwin; and her parents.
The funeral service took place Saturday, Jan. 5 at 1 p.m. at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel with the Rev. Steven Olson officiating. Interment will be at the Lake Arvilla Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation was Saturday from noon to 1 p.m. at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel, prior to the funeral service.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel.
